The ISA athletics day was a great success with St Wystan`s competitive across lots of track and field events. The children were supportive of each other with chants and signage keeping the track runners going. We witnessed some fantastic teamwork in relay events and a real sense of school spirit throughout the day. Highlights included 6th place in Y4 Girls 600m and a gold medal in the Y4 Boys 60m Sprint.

The trips continue ... Forms 3 and 4 had an amazing three days last week at Caythorpe Court PGL in Lincolnshire. The children showed true adventurous spirit undertaking a variety of exciting activities such as rafting, climbing Jacob’s Ladder and daringly dangling from the Giant Swing. They worked tremendously well as a team, solving problems and communicating clearly through a sensory trail. Every pupil pushed themselves to be the best they could be and try things that they had never done before. They all left feeling incredibly proud of their achievements, if not a little tired! A huge well done to everyone – how your confidence and self-belief now soars!

Form 2 had a blast! 💥

This week Form 2 have been to Bardon Quarry. We had enjoyed a site tour, learnt about all the large trucks and even got to watch a blast in the quarry! We visited two quarries onsite and saw how they are excavating the rock and what they do with it afterwards. The staff explained their sustainability and environmental impact too. Thank you to Holcim for the great experience! The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day and we look forward to returning! @holcim_uk

Today, 21st April, marks a truly special moment in history. As we celebrate 100 years of our school, we also remember and honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 100th birthday.

Over the past century, both the Queen and St Wystan’s have stood as witnesses to extraordinary change — through times of challenge, growth, and progress. From 1926 to today, a century of history has shaped who we are, just as Her Majesty’s remarkable life helped shape the nation and the world.

We also reflect with pride on her visit to Repton in 1957, a moment that remains part of our shared heritage.

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we look forward with the same sense of duty, resilience, and community spirit that has defined the past 100 years.

Here’s to our history, our future, and to the enduring legacy of a remarkable life.

Woodland School is such a memorable experience at St Wystan`s School 🍂🍃 From finding mini beasts to creating experiments, the woodland orchard and our Head of Outdoor Learning and Science Mr Pickersgill create an amazing immersive learning environment for all our pupils. Forms 4, 5 and 6 will enjoy their Woodland lessons this term. The Spring term ended with hot chocolate and marshmallows! ☕😃
