Friends of St. Wystan’s

The Friends of St Wystan’s are a group of parents and staff fuelled by enthusiasm and cake!

The events and initiatives we organise and establish are constantly evolving as the school grows and so we are always open to new ideas and suggestions.  New members sustain and revitalise our work and so we like to think that we do our upmost to welcome them.

A further vital element in the Friends’ work is enabling Form Friends, a useful and helpful point of contact for organisational questions parents may have.  Each Form has a Form Friend – a point of contact regarding organisational matters.  Like helpful fairies, they work in the background to ensure parents receive key information and reminders.  Remembering everything can be daunting and so Form Friends have been established as a way of helping with this.

We support the school in a variety of ways, like organising reading rotas, second-hand uniform sales, staffing of the twice yearly Book Fairs and we help the kitchen with the greatly loved Christmas lunch.

Meetings are held each half term, with smaller satellite meetings as necessary.  There is no expectation of how much time a St Wystan’s Friend should volunteer.  People may be unable to attend meetings in the evening yet can help and support other events in a variety of ways.  Any help, no matter how great or small, is always genuinely appreciated.
