In June 2023, St Wystan’s School, a small independent prep school in Repton, was named Derbyshire’s ‘Most Nurturing Independent Prep School 2023’ in the annual LUXLife private education awards. The award recognizes the game-changers and trailblazers in the world of private education, as well as celebrating the individuals that are truly committed to changing lives and contributing to brilliance for the next generation.
St Wystan’s family environment allows for personalised learning and strong relationships between home and school, thus enabling pupils who might be struggling to thrive. Each child’s individual strengths and characteristics are recognised and cherished, supporting them to enable their full potential, this motivates children to be their very best selves and it is what makes a St Wystan’s education such an enriching experience.
“We were delighted to be awarded Most Nurturing Independent Prep School in Derbyshire 2023, I could not be prouder to have the recognition of this award which I believe sums up St Wystan’s beautifully.” Says Ms Kara Lebihan, Headteacher at St Wystan’s School who joined the School in the Spring Term of 2022. “I was immediately blown away by the warmth I experienced upon joining St Wystan’s. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the relationships between staff and pupils. Everybody knows everybody and the sense of community is so strong. This in turn brings excellent pastoral care, particularly when coupled with the smaller nature of our school.”

St Wystan’s School have also been shortlisted in the National Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2023 for ‘Small Independent School of the Year 2023’. The winners of the award will be announced in September. A tremendous note to end the academic year on!
