This week, Form 3 became Stone Age builders! 🏡
After collecting natural materials such as sticks, moss and stones, we returned to the classroom to construct our own Stone Age shelters. The children used iPads to photograph each stage of the building process. Later this week, we will link this learning to our English lessons by using the photographs to help us write clear, step-by-step instructions explaining how our shelters were made. It was a fantastic opportunity to combine history, outdoor learning and teamwork.

🌾 Form 5 had a wonderful time visiting St Wystan’s Church last week for ‘Experience Harvest’, taking part in a range of hands-on activities exploring the grain, the ocean, the flock, the earth and the garden. Through these interactive stations, pupils learned how Christians celebrate and give thanks for the many gifts of harvest. Thank you to the church team for such a fun and enriching experience! 🌿⛪✨

Thank you to @acres.europe for hosting Form 6 at their design and manufacturing facility in celebration of National Manufacturing Day. Our pupils had the opportunity to discover how raw materials are transformed into finished products, from building their own trestle tables to watching engineers carry out a load test!

On Wednesday, it was the turn of our U11 girls and boys team to take on Old Vicarage at Mitre Field. Again, the sun was shining and it was set to be a wonderful afternoon of football. Our girls were up first and got straight into it with some amazing play with Hattie scoring the first goal. The girls were hard in attack with some impressive finishes from Tilly and Mia too. Well done girls on your first win of the season! 🏅⚽️

Next up was the boys` turn. This game was intense and competitive from the off. With an early goal from OVS, the boys had to defend hard and find the counterattack. With a goal from Milan, the game was on. OVS continued to press hard in attack and our boys worked hard to defend and had some very close encounters on goal. OVS came away with the win in the end but what a super effort from the boys with huge progress made throughout! Well done all. ⚽🏅

Last week was a busy week in the art department! 🎨
The Little Artists after school club were busy creating animal collages, Form 5 were perfecting their still life sketching and Form 3 enjoyed using their new topic knowledge to create cave paintings inspired by the ice age!

This week we kicked off the football season with hosting Old Vicarage School to play against our U9 Mixed team. ⚽😀The sun was shining and team spirit was in full flow with some fantastic passing and tackling. Well done to William on his hat trick and incredible defending from Aurelia and Ciara. St Wystan’s came away with an impressive win and it was a wonderful afternoon. A huge well done to you all. ⭐️

🌲Woodland School is back in action this Autumn term! 🍁🍂
Reception have enjoyed starting to explore the beautiful orchard alongside Form 1. The apples, leaves and tree stumps are prefect places to discover, learn and create in the outdoors. Forms 2 and 3 are also learning in the woods this half term and today used hand drills and collected apples! 🍎
