Woodland School

At St Wystan’s, children from Nursery to Form 6 all have the opportunity to attend Forest School sessions.

We aim to encourage and inspire the children through positive experiences and participation in achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment. These experiences should help the children to further develop their Personal, Social and Emotional skills such as:

  • Independence
  • Self-discovery (self-awareness and self-regulation)
  • Intrinsic motivation
  • Communication skills
  • Empathy
  • A positive mental attitude, self-esteem and confidence

These attributes will help to provide an effective foundation to raise academic achievement and are lifelong skills.

Our Forest School is situated in the private grounds at Mitre House (part of Repton School) and comprises of an orchard and woodland area, providing an exciting (whilst secure) place for children to explore.
