Parental Questionnaire Feedback Session
We will be holding an Information Evening on Tuesday 26th January at 7.30pm in order for us to expand further on the information provided in the end of term mailing regarding the recent Parental Questionnaire. There will be an opportunity to hear more about the results that were received and the feedback made, while also hearing more about future developments that have arisen from that feedback and our plans to enhance the learning experiences of your children at St Wystan's School. If you are able to attend please let the School Office know on Monday 25th January.
Swimming Gala v The Elms
Our first sports fixture of the new year took pace on Wednesday 20th January with our swimming team travelling to Trent College to compete against their junior department, The Elms. After some very close races in all events The Elms took first place but it was much closer than the final score showed. Well done to all our swimmers who seem to have continued their progress from last term.
Freaky Friday
Thanks to everyone who took part in our fundraising day for the Haiti earthquake appeal and those that donated funds. The School Council should receive special thanks for putting the idea into practice and providing the children with some fun activities at playtimes. We had all sorts of 'freakiness' from dressing up to changing hair. Your support is much appreciated and I believe this shows just how knowledgeable our children are about the wider world that they have taken part so enthusiastically to raise money for this disaster.
Friends Book and Cake Sale
Information has gone into book bags today about our next Book and Cake sale organised by the Friends. It will be on Friday 5th February at 3.30pm in the School Hall. Donations of cakes and books will be greatly received on the morning of the sale.
Denstone College Parents' and Pupils' Golf Competition
I have received information from Denstone College about this event on Sunday 23rd May. It would be great if we were able to send a team of parents and children from St Wystan's to take part. If you are interested, further details can be obtained from Lisa Egan in the office. I may even dust off my clubs myself although last time that was a mistake!
Policy Update
As we continually review our policies in school, particularly those surrounding Child Safeguarding' we are obliged to make tem available to you via the school website. At this moment they have been added to the Newsletters page until our new website is finished so you can find them there. They are also, of course, in the Parents' Handbook which is also contained within this area of the website. You should have access to our Child Safeguarding Policy and Anti-Bullying Policy. We have also rethought our Aims and Objectives and these can be found in the first few pages of the Parents' Handbook. Any comments are most welcome.
Friday Entertainment
Lauren sang a confident version of 'The Whole World in His Hands'. Well done!
